Baby Bee

Baby Bee! Group for pregnant mums and mums and dads with babies.

Baby Bee is a baby group that takes place on Friday mornings every 2nd and 4th week of the month, from 10.30-12.00.

Free for pregnant mums, or mums and dads with babies from 0 to crawling.

Come and connect with others in the community with new babies and chat over tea + coffee in our special baby room. We’ll also be able to look after older siblings if that helps in our children’s play room (adjacent to the baby room) giving you some time together with your new baby.

Baby Bee is a group for pregnant mums and those with newborns (up to -6ish months) in the ABC lab. We also provide supervision of any older siblings to allow you to have time with your new babies. The aim of the group is to provide a quiet and calm space for you and your babies, cultivating a focus on shared experiences and offering a listening ear.

In 2023 Research Assistants who are undergraduate student volunteers will help run the group under the supervision of the Lab Manager and a PhD student, Jasmine Rodriguez. They will be meeting and greeting and showing you to the lab, serving drinks, and supervising any accompanying children (older siblings) in our children’s play area.

Start date 2023: Friday 10th March.

More info about the background to the group can be found here: Meeting the challenges of public engagement, research impact, and research participation as a baby and child lab – University of St Andrews (
